In the border city Tengchong in southwest China’s Yunnan Province lived the renowned Dong family, a well-cultured business family that ran a horse caravan. Frustrated by the lack of hot meals during their business trips, Master Dong ordered his family cook to come up with a recipe of nutritious, delectable and preservable food. And thus the dish was created.
The dish has a flavor of Yunnan cuisine. Its main ingredients: stinky tofu, wind-cured goose meat and potatoes. Seasonings: chopped green onion, ginger and chili powder. After steaming, finish by pouring hot oil over all the ingredients.
